What is mining in Knight Online?
Mining means digging in a mining area with a pickaxe in your hands. When you step into one, "Click spacebar to mine" appears; press Space to dig. At the April 22, 2021 maintenance on the Turkish servers (USKO), NTTGame fixed characters getting stuck in the "Moradon mining areas", so Moradon has more than one spot.
In our view the two main things you dig up feed other content: Mysterious Ore goes into an EXP quest chain, and Rainworms go into fishing. Don't see it as a Noah farm on its own; the quest rewards below are the real payoff.
Where do you get a pickaxe in Knight Online?
The basic pickaxe is called Mattock in game. [Miner] Jaro in Moradon has two options: "[Free] Receive a Mattock" gives you the first one, and "[Repeatable Paid Service] Buy Mattock" sells more for 1,000,000 Noah. Quest texts still call him by his old name, Pitman; same NPC.

- The free pickaxe is once per character. On April 7, 2022 NTTGame fixed a bug that let you take the free Pickaxe quest again after a rebirth.
- In Jaro's own words: when the pickaxe runs out of durability you have to repair it, or you'll be buying a new one from him.
- Per the store description, the Golden Pickaxe voucher comes with DC Premium; see Knight Online Premium types: what EXP, DC, WAR, Gold and Platinum give. Since November 18, 2021 the voucher can't be traded or sold.
- The Mattock's tooltip also says it breaks Draki fossils in Ronark Land. For Draki materials see Knight Online Krowaz crafting: weapon recipes, armor set bonus and materials.
Where do you mine? Knight Online mining spots
[Miner] Jaro stands in three places: Moradon, the Karus home map (Luferson) and the El Morad home map, the last two near the castle. NTTGame has never published a map of the mining areas; it isn't officially documented, but players say the spots are in Moradon and around both castles, near Jaro.

"Not mining area" means you're outside a dig spot. "Fishing and mining are not available in this channel." means digging is off on that channel; switch to another one.
How do you mine in Knight Online? Step by step
- Get a Mattock from Jaro, or swap a Golden Pickaxe voucher at Kaira.
- Take your weapon off and equip the pickaxe. Without it the game says "A pickaxe is not equipped".
- Walk into a mining area and wait for "Click spacebar to mine".
- Press Space. You get "Preparing mining", the dig finishes and whatever you found lands in your bag.
- Keep bag space free: a full bag gives "Not enough inventory slot".
- When the pickaxe wears out you get "The durability of pickaxe is 0"; repair it or get a new one.
You can't sign up for Chaos with a pickaxe: the game says "Pickaxe cannot be equipped in Chaos Battle." and asks you to take it off and apply again.
What do the mining messages mean?

What does mining drop in Knight Online?
NTTGame has never published the full mining loot table. What the official notes and item tooltips confirm: Rainworm (the May 19, 2022 note confirms it drops while mining), Mysterious Ore (its tooltip says Jaro takes it) and Ore.
Level can matter too: in January 2019, on the then-new servers Altar, Vega and Sirius, characters below level 70 could get only potions from the mining area, with no limit at 70 and above. What happened to those servers is in Knight Online server opening and merger dates.
What is Mysterious Ore for? The Knock, and the door will open quests
Two quests from Menissiah in Moradon run on mining. With the quest active, pick Refine at Jaro and your Mysterious Ore becomes Ore magic power extract; you hand the extracts to Menissiah.

What level do you need for mining?
On the Turkish servers (USKO), NTTGame hasn't announced a general mining level. The Mattock has no level requirement and the Golden Pickaxe needs 35. On SteamKO, the August 26, 2026 patch raised the character level for digging in mining areas to 83 (SteamKO patch notes August 26, 2026: mining level 83, new events and what ended); NTTGame Turkey hasn't announced anything like that for USKO.
