What is Knight Online phone verification and why is it required?
Right after the new server announcement, NTTGame added mobile phone verification to accounts. It isn't a temporary rule for the new servers; according to NTTGame's announcement, the number is now your account's core security and verification detail. It's used in three places:
- New server registration: the pre-registration starting October 15 uses the number on your account.
- SMS approval for trade and the market: accounts without a number can't do SMS approval. You add the number first, then do SMS approval (5 NPoint); details in How to enable trade: SMS approval.
- Other NTTGame services: later on, accounts without a number will get a warning from the system.
The portal notice says the same: phone verification unlocks SMS verification, new server registration and the ICS website.
How do you do phone verification? Step by step
Log in to the NTTGame account portal and click the Cell Phone field under Overview. Adding your first number is free. The form asks you to finish every step in the same browser, so open the email link in that browser too.
- Enter your account ID, password and the captcha characters. A phone registration link goes to your registered email address.
- Click the PHONE VERIFICATION link in the email.
- On the page that opens, pick your country, enter your number and press VERIFY.
- The screen shows a text to send (example: NTTGame 41938). Send it as an SMS from your own phone: to 5564 from a Turkish number, or to +16315401700 from a foreign number.
- Once the SMS arrives the number is added to your account and the portal shows 1/3 next to Cell Phone.

You have 5 minutes. No code comes to your phone in this step; the code is on the screen and you send the SMS. If you leave the page or press Cancel, you may have to wait 5 minutes before trying again. If you get stuck, see Phone verification problems and fixes.

How many accounts can one phone number have? 1 number = 1 new server registration
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| One number goes on 3 accounts at most | The 3-account allowance starts the moment the number is first added. |
| Changing numbers doesn't refund the slot | Even if you switch to another number, the used slot doesn't come back. |
| One number registers one account for the new servers | Even if it's on 3 accounts, only one of them gets in; after that the number can't register another account for the new servers. |
| Old server numbers don't count | Phone details used on earlier servers are separate from this new system. |
| A separate, active number per account | To enter the new servers with several accounts you need a different number you can access for each one. |
If you put the same number on two accounts and want both on the new servers, you have to change the number on one of them; that's what NTTGame staff answered. Registration dates and steps are in How to pre-register for the new servers.
How do you change your phone number, and what does it cost?
You change it with the same steps from the Cell Phone field under Overview. The first number is free; according to NTTGame's current notice each later change takes 30 NPoint from your account. The warning on the number entry screen says 1 NPoint, so check the amount on screen before confirming. The new number also uses one of its 3 account slots.
Does the OTP number have to match the phone verification number?
No. Your account can now have three separate numbers, and for now they aren't linked:
| Number | What it's for | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Account phone number (new) | New server registration, new SMS approvals, other services later | Portal > Overview > Cell Phone; first one is free |
| OTP / ICS number | Account security through AnyOTP; OTP is required on the new servers | Doesn't have to match the account number |
| Market and trade SMS approval number | Existing SMS approvals stay valid | You can sync it to your new account number for 5 NPoint |
The one overlap to watch is the 3-account limit: if the number you pick for phone verification already fills 3 accounts in SMS approval or ICS, you won't get a 4th account in those services. In that case you may have to change your phone number later. OTP setup is in How to set up and activate OTP in Knight Online: ICS, AnyOTP, changing your phone and trade SMS.
I play on an old server. Is phone verification required?
Not for now. According to NTTGame staff, players on the old servers who already did SMS approval have no obligation at the moment, and existing market and trade approvals stay valid. The people who must add a number are those registering for the new servers and those doing SMS approval for the first time. Anyone playing on Zero or any other server who wants to move to the new servers is in that group.
