What do you need to sign up for SteamKO?

How do you create a SteamKO account? Step by step

  1. If you don't have a Steam account, make one on Steam's sign-up page and install Steam.
  2. Add the game to your library from Knight Online's Steam page and download it.
  3. Launch the game from your Steam library. Before the server list you get the phone authentication screen; press Confirm.
  4. Pick your country code, type the number with no leading 0 and no spaces, and press Check Phone Number. Enter the SMS code within 10 minutes.
  5. Once verified, choose your server. SteamKO has one server today: Zion (Hellsgarem, Cypher and Pathos merged on December 8, 2022).
  6. Pick your race and class and create your character. Not sure which? See which class to play.

You can switch the authentication screen to English, Türkçe or Español from the top-right corner. If the SMS doesn't come or you see "-16-9", the fixes are in SteamKO phone authentication.

First thing after signing up: add an email

When SteamKO sees a connection it doesn't know, it stops the login with -18 (New connection detected) and emails you a code. No email on file means no code. So on day one, log in to NTTGame's Knight Online site with Steam and add your address with VERIFY EMAIL under GAME SERVICE, below your profile picture. More in SteamKO error -18.

Blocks you might hit while signing up

  • Phone authentication is required for every account created after February 28, 2018. You get 3 tries per 10 minutes; if you use them up, wait 10 minutes.
  • One number can verify at most 3 accounts. Don't borrow someone else's number for a fourth; your account security is tied to that number.
  • If the game closes when you press START or won't open at all: Steam Knight Online not starting.
  • If you see "Account Creation Abuse" or a block dated 2099-12-31, that's an account block; what to do is in SteamKO account blocks.

FAQ

Can I play SteamKO with my USKO account?
No. USKO and SteamKO have separate accounts, servers and economies, and no character transfer between them has been announced. All the differences: USKO vs SteamKO.
Can I play SteamKO in English or Turkish?
Both. Steam lists English and Turkish, and you pick one in Option.exe in the game folder: how to change the language in Knight Online.
