How do you set up a merchant in Knight Online?

  1. In Moradon, switch to a channel other than channel 1 that allows merchants.
  2. Type /merchant in chat and choose Selling Merchant.
  3. Drag the item into a slot; for stackables enter the quantity, then the price per unit.
  4. Check the price twice; the game asks "Have you entered the right price? Please double check the price!"
  5. Write your ad in the message box at the bottom; per the official guide it's broadcast on the merchant channel with your coordinates every 3 minutes.
  6. To close the shop, walk and confirm the pop-up.

Per the official guide, players looking at your shop from outside only see the first 4 slots; they have to click your shop to see the other 8. Put the items you most want to sell in those first 4. When something sells, the game logs the time, the buyer and the item.

How do you set up a buying merchant?

Type /merchant, choose Buying Merchant, find the item in the search list, then set the upgrade level, quantity and unit price. Registering items on a buying merchant costs an hourly fee; the selling merchant registration fee and the 3% cut are covered in Knight Online market tax: how much it is and the Merchant Union Fund. Edit_Merchant, added on NTTGame's global servers in August 2024, lets you change prices and items without closing the shop; Edit_Merchant is in USKO's command list too.

You can't set up a merchant on channel 1, and which channels allow merchants depends on the server. After opening a shop you can't type in Allchat or Shout (June 2022). If you teleport to another zone or move, your shop closes.

What level do you need to open a merchant?

Neither the official guide nor the in-game warnings mention a level requirement for merchants. What locks it is an unverified account on the game website, a trade restriction, or hitting the Noah cap; in that last case you can't sell.

What is a premium merchant and the merchant scroll?

Kaishan's Trade Certificate in the Power Up Store, per its description, lets you sell without restrictions from a stall with a special sign for 30 days; you activate the coupon through Kaira's exchange menu. On the February 2025 PUS sale list it was 399 NPoints. Menicia's Official List gives 30 days of unlimited shop searches (360 NPoints on the same list). Spirit of Merchant is an older item that, per its description, sets up a special selling stall.

How do you search items and check merchant prices?

In the Buying Merchant search screen, pick an item and hit Search to see the lowest, highest and average price of recent trades plus a daily chart. The game notes the chart only uses buying merchant trades and can differ from the real market price. When you buy from a selling merchant above the average price, the game warns you. Upgrade levels show on merchant items (July 2022) and durability doesn't (September 2022); you can turn the level display off at Option > Game2 > Preview Merchant Fortification Level.

How do you make profit with a merchant?

  • Buy low with a buying merchant and sell on your selling merchant. Take the 3% cut off when you do the math.
  • Check prices on the chart; if you undercut far below the average, everyone in the price war loses.
  • Things everyone burns through move fastest: upgrade scrolls, Trina, gems, potions.
  • Items that flood in during an event drop in price while it runs; if you're stocking up, wait for the event to end.
  • Watch the zeros: per the in-game FAQ, items sold at a wrong price aren't returned.
  • Don't use merchant bots or koxp; third-party programs get you banned (Knight Online ban policy: how long each ban lasts).

FAQ

Can you run an offline merchant in Knight Online?
There's no offline merchant feature in the official guide or the in-game texts. Your shop stays open while your character is in game; moving or changing zone closes it.
How do you get the merchant scroll and how many NPoints is it?
The premium merchant coupon, Kaishan's Trade Certificate, is sold for NPoints in the Power Up Store; it was 399 NPoints on the February 2025 list. You activate it at Kaira.
What is Merchant Block?
It's the list you use to block the merchants of players you pick. The June 2022 patch added manual adding to the list; in the menu it's called Merchant Block.
I sold something at the wrong price, can I get it back?

What is Spirit of Merchant?
Per its description, it sets up a special merchant stall to sell items. Today Kaishan's Trade Certificate does that job in the Power Up Store.
Do you need premium to open a merchant?
No. Regular merchants are open to everyone; the premium coupon only adds the stall with the special sign.
