Why do you get sent to prison in Knight Online?

The official name for prison is the Discipline Dungeon. NTTGame's rules of conduct use it mainly for these offenses:

  • Macro software or hardware: Discipline Dungeon, then extra timed and permanent account closures on repeats.
  • Deliberately pulling monsters in safe zones: Discipline Dungeon on top of account closures starting at 7 days.
  • Deliberate NP farming or transfers, killing your own character for quests: NP wiped plus Discipline Dungeon.
  • Third-party programs: the game can send you to jail with "You will be sent to jail due to 3rd party tool usage.", and the rules also allow a permanent account closure.

When the game suspects a macro, it shows a question and waits 5 minutes for your answer. Close the game without answering and your character goes to prison.

How do you get out of prison in Knight Online?

  1. Talk to [Prison Officer] Kabal in Inside Bride Prison (344, 463).
  2. Take the next punishment quest; each one asks you to kill a set number of four monster types in the prison.
  3. Kill them, return to Kabal, hand in the quest and take the next one.
  4. The quests unlock in order, and how many you need can depend on your sentence. Keep going until Kabal lets you out.

If another character on your account is in prison, the game can warn you that you have to finish that character's quest first: "You must complete Discipline Dungeon Quest of the following character."

Prison quests: how many monsters do you need to kill?

The punishment quests are a chain of 15, from easiest to hardest. Each one requires the previous one, and each asks for the same count from four monster types:

The first quest asks for 40 kills in total and the last one for 400. Each quest has its own page, starting with [Guard]Cabal's very easy punishment.

Is there an item to get out of prison? How much cash?

The client has no item that releases you directly. The item that helps is the Punishment Stick, the club you use to kill monsters in prison. Kabal's "Trade Punishment Stick" quest says you get it from [Guard] Cabal.

There are also two coupons: "Spirit Potion(300) + Punishment Stick Exchange Coupon" and "Wing of Dragon + Punishment Stick Exchange Coupon". Hand either to [Warden] Kabal for a Punishment Stick plus 300 Spirit Potions or a Dragon Wing. The coupon's own text says the 300 Spirit Potions help with mana in the prison but may not be enough. Neither shortens the quests; they only make the killing easier.

FAQ

How long is a prison sentence in Knight Online?
Prison ends with quests, not days: finish the punishment quests and you're out. Under the rules, some offenses also add a timed account closure on top.
What if I run out of mana in prison?
Use Spirit Potions. The Spirit Potion(300) + Punishment Stick coupon gives 300, though its description says that isn't always enough.
Is prison the same as a ban?
No. In prison your character stays in the game and gets out after the quests; a ban closes your account and you can't log in.
Is there a bug to escape prison?
Exploiting bugs means a 30-day ban, then permanent, under the rules of conduct. Finishing the quests is the safe way out.
