What are TBL files in Knight Online?

The USKO client's Data folder holds 187 files with the .tbl extension. Item_Org, Item_Ext, the skill and magic tables, quest, achievement and help text: most of what the game shows you comes from these tables. The files are encrypted and the game reads them at startup.

When players say "TBL", they usually don't mean the files themselves but modified versions: some programs edit these tables to add advantages the game doesn't allow.

What does a TBL hack do, and why is it bannable?

According to players and sales listings, modified TBLs cut skill cooldowns, ignore blind, lock AoE skills, push the camera and view distance out, or let you attack without the arm-raise animation ("half hand"). Cheat programs like koxp are a separate ban reason: they're third-party programs that fire skills and potions for the player.

The very first item in NTTGame's rules of conduct is modifying the files the company provides. There's no warning step: it's a permanent account closure, and accounts linked by IP, phone number or computer ID can be punished too. The client also runs with XIGNCODE protection.

How do you fix a Knight Online TBL error?

A "TBL error" or "Data … tbl error" usually means a file in the Data folder is missing, corrupted or doesn't match the game version. The client can show "Invalid file installed. Please reinstall the program." or a message saying it can't read the update files.

  1. Close the game, reopen the launcher and let the update finish completely.
  2. If you copied TBLs into the Data folder from somewhere or installed a program, remove it; modified files are a ban reason.
  3. If the error stays, download the game from the official site and reinstall.
  4. Make sure your antivirus hasn't quarantined game files.
