Which job has the edge on the new servers?
There's no single right job; it depends on three questions: do you have a team, how many hours a day will you play, and how much will you spend? At launch everyone is naked, farm spots are crowded and potions are expensive. So it's not the "strongest job" that wins, it's the job that fits how you play.
| Your situation | Job | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You have a team and love PK | Mage | Every level 70 area skill is open; a mage party sweeps CZ together |
| You'll play solo and farm after work | Priest (BP or int) | Heals itself, always finds a party, comfortable on genie |
| You want more farm spots | Rogue | Switch between assassin and archer to use both jobs' spots |
| Big budget and a melee team | Warrior | The front line every party wants; but the highest potion and gear cost |
| Play little, earn from events | Mage or Priest | Does the job in events with cheap gear, easy to get into parties |
| Something different | Kurian | Pull and Thunderstorm are open; solo leveling is hard and few people play it |
Each job's level 70 skill build, leveling spots and PK tactics are on its own page:
- Is Mage worth it on the new servers?
- Is Priest worth it on the new servers?
- Assassin or archer on the new servers?
- Is Warrior worth it on the new servers?
- Is Kurian worth it on the new servers?
- Where to level 1–70 on the new servers
Mage if you have a team, Priest (BP or int) if you'll farm solo, Rogue if you want more farm spots. At the level 70 cap every Mage area skill is open; Priests lose Helis, Rogues lose Blinding and Power Shot, Warriors lose Hell Blade.
What does the level 70 cap take from each job?
The new servers open with a level 70 cap. At level 70 a skill tree holds at most 70 points, and the master tab at most 10, because master skills open one point per level after 60. The result: every 72, 75 and 80 skill and every master skill above 10 points is closed. That's what really changes the job choice.
| Job | Key skills still open | Closed |
|---|---|---|
| Mage | Meteor Fall, Ice Storm, Chain Lightning, Incineration, Prismatic, Stun Cloud, Absolute Power | Staff skills (72), Fire / Ice / Lightning Armor (75), Blink and the 80 skills, Mana Shield |
| Priest | Critical Restore, Imposingness, Bless Of God, Subside, Judgment, Hellish | Helis, Massive Binder (72), Past Recovery and Superior Parasite (75), Superioris (78), Past Restore (80) |
| Rogue | Dark Pursuer, Bloody Beast, Wild Advent, Magic Shield | Blinding and Blow Arrow (72), Beast Hiding (75), Power Shot and Critical Point (80) |
| Warrior | Howling Sword, Iron Skin, Berserker, Scream, Matchless | Blooding and Wall Of Iron (75), Hell Blade and Iron Body (80), Shock Stun |
| Kurian | Pull, Iron Skin, Berserk, Thunderstorm | Critical Bleeding (75), Crouch and Demolition Of Devil (80), Divide Armor |
In short: Mage loses the least, Rogue and Priest lose the most. Mage damage skills already sit at 70; the Rogue's blind and crit skills, the Priest's Helis and party HP buffs come after 70. All skill quests: Knight Online 70, 72, 75 and 80 skill quests: NPCs, Spell Stone Powder and unlocked skills.

Mage: the most fun job on the new servers if you have a team
The common view among players is that the 70 cap favors mages. Meteor Fall, Ice Storm and Chain Lightning are open, while the assassin on the other side has no Critical Point, Beast Hiding or Blinding. Assassins won't drop a mage with one combo like before. A mage party that plays together will own group PK in CZ.
There's a price: staff skills and Blink are closed, so there's no staff hit up close and no Blink to escape. A mage isn't a job you leave on genie to farm alone; 2-3 mages clear a spot together by hand. Start a lone mage and you'll lose time looking for a party. In events, though, a mage does the job with cheap gear, which makes sense for a player with little time who wants to earn from events like BDW. Full guide: Is Mage worth it on the new servers?.
Priest: the easiest solo farmer, but no Helis
A priest always finds a party. As a support (heal / buff) priest you get into EXP parties, PK and events: Critical Restore, Imposingness, Bless Of God and Subside are open at 70. But there's no Massive Binder, Past Recovery or Superioris, so you can't pump the party's HP like before.

The big news for Battle Priests is Helis: it needs 12 points in the master tab, so it opens at level 72 and isn't on the new servers. A BP still clears a spot on genie with Hellish and the other attack skills, but struggles to drop an archer or warrior who comes at it in CZ. An int priest has more HP and defense, so it holds up better on genie; a STR priest suits manual farming but is more likely to die on the spot. Rogue: assassin or archer?
Most players who pick Rogue think of both paths: switch between assassin and archer with Switching Premium and use both jobs' farm spots. The 70 cap files down both sides:

- Assassin: Bloody Beast (a hit that ignores defense) and Wild Advent are open; Blinding, Beast Hiding and Critical Point aren't. The hide, blind, crit combo is gone. Assassins are wanted in EXP parties but weak at farming and dependent on a team in PK.
- Archer: Dark Pursuer is open; Blow Arrow, Blinding Strafe and Power Shot aren't. Without Power Shot's one-shot burst, the archer is more of a team character. Few spots suit genie; you'll mostly farm by hand, with a high arrow and mana cost. Full guide: Assassin or archer on the new servers?.
Warrior: the job parties want, but the most expensive
Warriors keep Howling Sword, Iron Skin, Berserker and the master skills Scream and Matchless; Hell Blade, Blooding, Wall Of Iron and Iron Body are closed. In the first weeks, when nobody has gear, a warrior who can put on a shield and build defense is still strong in PK, and every EXP party looks for one.

The problem is cost: you'll burn potions until you find MP recovery items, and weapons and jewelry cost more too. A solo starter isn't advised to pick Warrior; with a melee team and a budget it's one of the most trouble-free jobs. Full guide: Is Warrior worth it on the new servers?.
Kurian: the job few people pick
Kurians keep Pull, Iron Skin, Berserk and Thunderstorm; the 75 and 80 skills and Divide Armor are closed. Solo leveling is hard, Kurians are rare in parties and few will play one on the new servers. If you love the Kurian you'll have few rivals, but join with your team to find EXP parties. Skills: Knight Online Kurian and Porutu guide: skills, skill build, stats and farming. Which job should a solo player pick on the new servers?
- Priest: heals itself, the easiest job to get into a party, comfortable on genie.
- Rogue: switch between assassin and archer to use more spots; it needs gear though.
- Mage: only if you're sure you'll find a mage team.
- Warrior: only with a big budget and if you accept depending on parties.
Farm spots will be very crowded in the first weeks. Picking a job that isn't tied to one spot and can join events too will make life easier.
Before you pick: server, premium and character creation
Server selection opened on October 29, and an account can register on only 1 new server. Characters are created on November 10–11; in 2022 you couldn't switch servers after creating a character. Pick the same server as your team first, then talk about jobs. Premium choice: Which premium for the new servers?.
