What does Knight Online error 10053 mean?

The code shows up in two places: in the brackets of "Failed logging into the … server. (10053)" on the login screen, and when you get kicked in game. The number isn't specific to Knight Online; other games and programs give the same code. That's why the fix is on the connection's path, not in the game.

Don't mix 10053 up with 10060: with 10060 the server never answers, with 10053 the connection was made but dropped on your side. The table of all connection codes is in Knight Online error 10060: Failed logging into the Login Server and Login Server Connection Failed.

Short answer

10053 is a Windows code meaning software on your PC closed the connection. If everyone is kicked, wait; if only you, turn the modem off for 5 minutes, allow the game in your firewall and try mobile data.

Is everyone getting kicked, or only you?

Sort this out first. If your clan or party got kicked at the same moment, the problem isn't on your side: maintenance, outages and attacks cause mass disconnects, and changing settings won't help. If you're still in game, don't log out; wait for the notice. Maintenance times are in Knight Online not starting or disconnected from server: error messages and official fixes.

If you play from abroad there's one more reason: NTTGame's March 3, 2025 notice said DDoS traffic from abroad was causing connection problems, especially for players outside Turkey.

How to fix error 10053

If it only happens to you, try these in order. The first two fix it for most players:

  1. Close the game and launcher, then turn the modem off for 5 minutes.
  2. Allow Knight Online in your firewall and antivirus; don't turn protection off completely.
  3. On Wi-Fi, switch to a cable or move closer to the modem; a weak signal drops the link.
  4. Share your phone's mobile data and log in. If it works there, the problem is your ISP; report it to them.
  5. Update your network card driver from the maker's site.

For login problems with some Turkish ISPs, NTTGame suggested flushing the DNS cache or setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4. It was written for 10060, but it's worth a try for 10053 too.

Why do I get 10053 in crowds?

Some players have recently reported many people dropping at once with 10053 in crowded places, for example in front of the Anvil. NTTGame hasn't commented on it. If it happens to you, move away from the crowd and try again, and add the time, place and a screenshot to a support ticket.

FAQ

Is error 10053 a ban?
No. 10053 is a connection code and has nothing to do with your account. An account block comes with a separate message such as "Your account is currently blocked".
Will a VPN fix 10053?
We don't recommend it. Turkish servers check your region and a VPN can make the connection even less stable. Restart the modem and try another network first.
