Why won't Knight Online start? Login screen messages

These are the game's own messages. Find yours and follow the step next to it.

Not starting: login errors and official steps

Due to high volume, only premium players may log in at the moment. Only premium accounts can log in during peak load. Log in with premium or wait for the load to drop.

Log in failed. Please contact customer service. / Failed logging into the … server. (code) Login refused; the number in brackets is an error code. No code list has been published. Open a ticket on NTTGame's support site with the code.

Why does Knight Online keep disconnecting me?

A network error has occurred. / Connection failed. No network connection to the server. Check for a maintenance notice first; if there's none, open a ticket.
Attending event with multiple characters from the same IP, is not allowed. / Duplicate IP is detected. A second character from the same IP tried to join an event. Join events with one character per IP.

Where you respawn after a DC depends on the map: since October 6, 2022, a DC on the Bifrost map sends you to the Ronark Land safe zone. If you drop out of a party unexpectedly and reconnect nearby, a party invite is sent once automatically when that game option is on.

Is there maintenance? Knight Online server maintenance times

NTTGame usually runs maintenance at night, and the game won't start while it's on. For example, the August 21, 2025 maintenance started at 02:30 Turkey time (01:30 server time); it was estimated at 4 hours, but the notice listed the end as uncertain. If you can't get in late at night, check NTTGame's notices first.

Not starting after an update: DirectX 11 and graphics

NTTGame added DirectX 11 support on February 22, 2024. To change it, open the settings with F10 in game, go to the Graphic tab and click DirectX Option; to go back to DirectX 9, select DirectX9 and hit APPLY at the bottom. The game says "A game restart is required if necessary." when you switch, so you may need to restart. For which to pick see Knight Online DX11 or DX9? Playing Knight Online from abroad: VPN and region blocks

The login system has ready-made region messages. If you see one of these while abroad, the cause is the country your connection comes from:

Access Restricted This server is open for NTTGame users who are registered for ICS. The server only accepts accounts registered for ICS.

If your connection keeps dropping while you're abroad, there's an official explanation: NTTGame's support notice About Connection Problems from March 3, 2025 says the game and web servers are under heavy DDoS attack, and that attack traffic from abroad in particular hurts server stability and causes connection problems for players abroad. NTTGame said it's working to reduce the effects and will keep players posted; it gives players no steps to take. If you keep dropping, check the latest announcements first and open a support ticket if it continues.

NTTGame Turkey hasn't published any rule on playing from abroad or using a VPN. We don't recommend getting around a region block with a VPN; if you get one of these messages, open a ticket on NTTGame's support site with your account details. If you're moving abroad, think about your phone too: NTTGame's December 19, 2025 notice says the ICS SMS check will ask for your registered number again later on, and keeping that number active is on the player.

Knight Online on Steam (SteamKO) runs on servers separate from USKO; NTTGame hasn't announced it as a route for USKO players living abroad.

FAQ

What is DC Premium in Knight Online?
It has nothing to do with disconnects; DC Premium is a premium type. What it gives is in Knight Online Premium types: what EXP, DC, WAR, Gold and Platinum give.
What does Disconnected from server 2 70 mean?
NTTGame hasn't explained the numbers shown with this message. If there's no maintenance at the time, open a ticket with a screenshot of the message and the numbers written out.
How do I fix Knight Online disconnect 10053?
NTTGame hasn't published a fix for this code. Put the code, the time and the map you were on in your support ticket; if there's a maintenance notice for that time, wait for it to end first.
My internet works but the game won't start. Why?
The game's own messages point to three blockers: maintenance, an outdated client and a program that can't run with the game. The on-screen message tells you which; if it's about OTP, go to the OTP error guide.
The Knight Online launcher won't open. What do I do?
NTTGame hasn't published a separate fix for the launcher. If you get an outdated or incorrect message, reinstall the client from NTTGame's download page; if there's no message, open a support ticket with a screenshot.
Can you get banned for using a VPN in Knight Online?
NTTGame Turkey hasn't published a notice that lists VPN use as a ban reason. What counts as a violation is in Knight Online ban policy: how long each ban lasts.
